Festive Award
The River Bend Community Appearance Commission (CAC) presents the Festive Awards program designed to recognize the festive and creative efforts of residential properties throughout the Town of River Bend. The Festive Award program coincides with annual Town celebrations and events. Two residents will be selected as Festive Award Winners in each month of July, October, and December. Festive Award winners will have an Award Banner placed in their yards and will be recognized in River Bend News, Town Council, and River Bend related social media. Additionally, all Festive Award nominees will be included in a street tour list for all residents to enjoy the community’s festive décor.
Eligibility
- Property must be located in the Town of River Bend
- Only the visible area from the street view of the residence will be judged.
Selection Criteria
River Bend Residents can nominate a neighbor, friend, or themselves. The CAC will use the following criteria to judge the Festive Award nominations:
- Eye-catching use of colors and texture and thoughtful layout.
- Creative and unique appeal that inspires a festive feel in the community.
- Pleasing appearance with appropriate decorations for the holiday or season.
- Inventive use of multiple materials, such as, lights, sounds, inflatables, figures, etc.
- Overall well-maintained condition of the yard.
Award Selection
The CAC will review all nominations, visit, and photograph decorations, choose, and notify award winners, and place and remove the Award Winner banner in the resident’s yard.
Each year:
- Halloween/Fall nominations accepted Oct. 17-25; Winners announced Oct. 29.
- Christmas/Hanukkah nominations accepted Dec. 5-15; Winners announced Dec. 21.
