Parks & Recreation
The Town of River Bend has several recreational
amenities for the enjoyment of residents of all ages.
We also have a small picnic shelter (with restrooms) and
gazebo in Town Hall Park, and two docks overlooking
Town Hall pond.
Our Dog Park is located in Ritter Field for the recreational
enjoyment of our four legged friends.
Of course, there are also numerous natural areas to enjoy
as you walk our quiet residential streets.
For those who desire more organized activities, there is
the privately owned River Bend Country Club featuring a
top-notch 18-hole public golf course that meanders
through some of our residential neighborhoods. This
course was the winner of the New Bern Sun Journal’s
award for being “Simply the Best Golf Course in New
Bern” in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
You may also wish to launch your boat into the Plantation
Canal at the privately owned River Bend Marina. Cruising
out the Town maintained canal will take you to the scenic
Trent River, from there to the Neuse River, then the
Pamlico Sound, and all the way to the Intracoastal
Waterway and Atlantic Ocean.

- A volleyball court on Town Commons

| Town Commons and Ritter Field Walking Trail The Town of River Bend recently completed construction of a Walking Trail on Town Commons and Ritter Field. This trail, funded in part by a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grant, is a great place for exercise away from traffic.
