Process for Filling Vacancy on Town Council

 

The Mayor of River Bend has received eight applications from citizens who wish to be appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Town Councilman Gene Bauer.  On December 13 during its regular Work Session, the Town Council will conduct interviews with all eight applicants. This process is open to the public. On December 20 during its Regular Council Meeting, the Town Council will vote to appoint a replacement. This process is also open to the public. Once the person is selected, they will be administered the oath of office and will immediately become a member of the Council. This will be a temporary appointment and will end in December, 2019 after the voters of River Bend have elected someone to finish the remaining two years of the original term.
